M.Y.O.B.

This week while I was studying the book of 1st Thessalonians I found a passage that touched me. Follow with me to chapter four where Paul is giving instruction for Godly living. I was pondering different families this week and examining how people live. There is a general pattern of busyness that the majority of society follows after. As with most things, the people of God seem to live in this manner without ever stopping to see if it’s right or not. Please don’t take me wrong here; neither I nor my family has everything perfect. When I make statements it might be assumed that I am saying things out of pride. Indeed, I have been called “holier than thou” because I state something … Read entire article »

Take It to Heart

I want to get serious this morning. Before you read any farther I want you to say out loud, “This commandment is for me”. This message is not for your husband or your wife, or your children. This message is not for your pastor, your brother or sister, or your neighbor. This message is for you. My scripture this morning comes out of the book of Malachi. We will start reading in verse one.   1. And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye … Read entire article »

Garlic Growing

Garlic was one of the first crops we ever grew and it continues to be a yearly staple in our garden.  Why?  Because it is easy to grow and is a multi-tasker!!!  In every way, we try to make use of everything the Lord provides to its fullest extent and there are so many uses for garlic that it well deserves the time and effort that it takes to grow it.  Honestly though, it is … Read entire article »
