The Church-The Body of Christ

Today I want to cover some aspects of the Christian Church and look at what it is and what it is not. If you look this up in the Dictionary there are several definitions for the word Church. These include a building for public Christian worship, a religious service in such a building, the worldwide body of Christian believers, a Christian denomination, and organized religion as distinguished from the state. For clarity today I am speaking about the third definition; the worldwide body of Christian believers. Before Jesus went back to His Father’s side He gave a call to His disciples to go into all the world and to preach the Gospel, baptizing those who would receive the message. We call this the Great Commission. This calling out is the … Read entire article »

God’s Plan for a Happy Home-Part V

Up until now we’ve examined the relationship of husbands and wives in the structure of the home. I would now like to examine scriptures regarding the children in the family. It is important for them to understand that their actions can cause strife in a home or can bring peace. Some people may be surprised to find out that God gives children rules to follow since younger children may not be old enough to understand. If they are too young to grasp the Bible it is the parent’s responsibility to train them so that they can understand. Let’s look at training children first and see what God says. While some families may not be able to have children having them completes God’s perfect order. When God created the woman for Adam … Read entire article »

God’s Plan for a Happy Home-Part IV

This week I will continue covering passages that deal with the husbands. Last week I went through Ephesians chapter five which explains that the man stands in the role of Christ in His relationship to the Church. The wife stands in the role of the Church in her relationship to Christ. Since God has declared that the man is head of the home it is important that we understand what He has called us to do. As I was going through the passages for last week’s message I came across 1st Peter 3:7. While it is just one verse I kept it for this week so that we could break it down. Let’s see if we can find the depth it was written in. As I often say we skim … Read entire article »

God’s Plan for a Happy Home-Part III

This is a continuation of a series I am doing on the family. I am going to give my standard disclaimer as I did on the other two parts before I begin. It does not matter if you believe the Bible or not or if you choose to ignore its teachings. You were created by Jehovah God and the institution of marriage was ordained by Him as one man and one woman. You will never find happiness in a relationship that does not go along with what He has established. While you may find temporary enjoyment in what you are doing it is only that-temporary. Ignoring the master plan from the Master Builder will lead to disaster. Following God’s Word will prove itself out to be truth. It has for … Read entire article »
