Proverbs 31 Virtuous Woman Bible Study

Praise the Lord!  I am so glad you have found our Proverbs 31 Bible Study.  It is a blessing to know that so many sisters desire to seek the Word of God to discover what the Lord wants from His daughters.  May He pour out His spirit on us as we go through this study and may His blessing be upon each and everyone that ventures with us on this journey.

Lesson: a proverbs 31 lady

Study: What a blessing that many are striving to lead Godly simple lives. Even at 55 and no children, living at home but offen fill my days with the Grand youngens. Stepping out in small ways will be a blessing in the long run, My first garden in the morning I refresh is my plot in the lords word, and at times with full days, I find early can be hard but have made that a habit that even on a late or troubled night[sickness, babies etc.],I set myself before him in thanksgiving. not really taking anything[no whine] from my day.Thank you all for the good ideas to share and refreshing.

Thoughts: I need help.  I am 27 years old and i have challenges.  I am a servant of God, i love the Lord with all my heart and i desire to do what he says i should do.  i struggle with my inabilities and it discourages me to even wanna try anymore.  I want so much to be the proverbs 31 woman but i dont know how to start.  Is this an inborn thing or is it learnt.  I make so many mistakes, i am not a good cook, and you gotta be a good cook, and mange the home, and etc etc im not married and at this point i dont even think i really want to anymore becos i havent been able to be the ideal woman that God says. i struggle to please my leaders even when i try hard and think im doing my best at the end is not.  I fear i wont ever be able to live up to the expectations of proverbs 31 for God, i dont know what else to do or think.

Dear Kim – If you see this, please email me back. You didn’t leave your email address so I have no way of contacting you!!!  I believe you have voiced the feelings of many thousands of women.  Please know that none of us, NONE of us, are the ideal woman.  We are all a work in progress.  I remember the first morning of married life – 18 years old, 5 hours distance from anyone I knew except my husband and I wanted to make him an egg for breakfast.  Try as I might I could not flip that egg over.  I must have used a dozen eggs trying to make him the picture perfect “over easy” fried egg.  Oh, the tears and shame I felt.  I knew in that moment that I was a failure and would never be the wife I dreamed of being.  That was about 30 years ago and let me tell you – I can flip an egg blind-folded now.  🙂  We all are failures in our own opinion in some areas – many areas, but the only real failure is when we give up. I don’t know anyone who is just born knowing how to do everything they want.  It takes time and work for all of us.  Proverbs 31 is a depiction of a woman being described by a mother to her son as a “virtuous woman”.  Not a perfect woman but a model for others to work toward. Our examination of her is to help us find areas we lack in and try to build towards a better example of ourselves.  God doesn’t say – “Be just like this or you are a failure as My daughter”.  No!  It is an example to help us see what we can work on.  The key, Kim, is to pray and seek God and ask His Will for your life.  Married, single, mother, childless, farmer, seamstress, city-girl, country-girl, scrapbooker or mechanic – what matters is that you find God’s will and DO IT.  You only fail when you give up.  Please, please do get back in touch and let’s see if we can work out some ideas together.

Much love,

Angie

    Verse: Proverbs 31

    Thoughts: Dear Angie,
Wow, I just started reading this study yesterday…I am not married yet but am engaged. I am so thankful for this study. My fiance has been telling me repeatedly to study on the Proverbs 31 woman as he is studying other scriptures on being a godly husband and such. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your wonderful words of wisdom. It has opened my eyes in a lot of areas that I need to work on, even before I get married. I figure that if I put these things into practice now, well the things that apply to me as not married, then it won’t be such a hard transition when I do get married. Thank you again for everything. I can’t wait to hear more of what you have to say and teach. Oh, and thank you for all the definitions. I LOVE THEM!!! 🙂
